Riding lessons will be taught by American Riding Instructor’s Association certified Katy Anderson. Lessons can be given on your own horse, or on one of AEC’s excellent lesson horses or ponies. No previous experience is needed. Lessons run about an hour. 30-40 minutes of that time are dedicated to riding. The remaining time is used to teach ground skills (grooming, tacking and cooling the horse out). Lessons are generally given twice per week. Students learn horse care/horsemanship skills in addition to riding skills, and receive at least one unmounted lesson per month. Many different lesson options are available!

Before your first lesson the rider (or parent or guardian of the rider) will need to sign and return the release form. Everything else you need to know for your first lesson is listed in the student welcome packet.

Payment must be made in advance. We are not able to provide refunds for purchased lessons. Individuals wishing to reschedule/cancel a lesson must do so 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. If a lesson is not rescheduled/cancelled in this manner the rider will still be responsible for paying for the missed session. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We offer a one time, half price introductory riding lesson for first-time customers. Not redeemable with any other offer. Gift certificates (redeemable for lessons and other services) can be purchased in various amounts. Ask about our “Tiny Tot” lessons for young children!
